The Christmas Fair shall commence at 12pm, with magnificent stalls and activities on New Street in the middle of the town centre.

Business and Services Network - St. Sylvester's G.A.A. Club
St. Sylvester's G.A.A. Club, Malahide have announced details of a new business and services networking initiative launching on Tuesday, 8th November 2011.
Guest speaker on the night shall be Bobby Kerr from Dragon's Den and Insomnia fame. Registration will open at 6:30pm in the St. Sylvester’s G.A.A. Clubhouse at 2 Church Road, Malahide. The event itself shall commence at 7pm.

Everyone can benefit from this initiative e.g. if you don’t have a business or service to sell you may have children coming through at some stage who might benefit from a work or transition year placement, mentoring etc. or you might need someone to do something that may be sourced from amongst our members.
This event on Tuesday, 8th November 2011 is the first of a number of events which they are planning to host during the year 2012 and into the future. The format of the events will vary as the network itself evolves, and they believe that there are a number of benefits that will arise for you, your family or Company by attending these events and participating in this initiative.
As a club, St. Sylvester’s want to help create opportunities for their members so that they can be successful off the pitch and have choices in life and careers. This will help their club to be successful on the pitch too!

Dublin City Marathon 2011
With your help, he is hoping to raise money for two causes very close to his heart, namely the Down Syndrome Association of Ireland and Loyola House Wexford Bus Appeal.
Dermot comes from a large family of five brothers, the youngest of whom, Paul, has Down Syndrome.
Paul resides in Loyala House, Co. Wexford, a supported residential unit, who are at present in need of a mini-bus to take clients to and from daily activities. The lives of these clients would be greatly enhanced by such a service.
Any support however small would be greatly appreciated by Dermot and the causes he is hoping to support.

Tuesday, 3rd May 2011: Official opening of the fleadh in Oscar Taylor’s, Malahide with a special presentation and opening address followed by a finger buffet provided by Oscar Taylor’s. Two sessions will take place in different areas of the premises.
Wednesday, 4th May 2011: Céilí and Set Dancing competitions with Sean-Nós and Figure Dancing entertainment shall take place in Malahide Community School at 7:30pm.
Thursday, 5th May 2011: An Uilleann Piping Recital shall take place downstairs in St. Sylvester’s G.A.A. Club commencing at 9pm.
Friday, 6th May 2011: A Youth Seisiún shall take place upstairs in St. Sylvester’s G.A.A. Club from 7:30pm

Malahide Musical and Dramatic Society shall hold a fundraising table quiz on Friday, 1st April 2011 at 8pm in the Portmarnock Sports and Leisure Centre.Entry costs €10 per person, with a team consisting of a table of four. The Green Village
The Green Village is a Malahide based not for profit organisation made up of local volunteers. It aims to improve energy efficiencies and create a greater lifestyle awareness that will benefit the 14,600 residents of Malahide, the many local businesses, their children and their visitors.For the members of the team, the personal satisfaction gained from volunteering in a worthwhile project is immense. They believe individuals can make a difference and in this current economic crisis individuals and communities taking action is crucial.
They are liaising with local community groups already established in Malahide working on similar goals. Where there are overlaps, they want to work with them to achieve these goals. This has the added benefit of involving more people in spreading the message of sustainability.
Now it's full steam ahead of their launch on Wednesday 23rd March 2011 at 8pm here at the Grand Hotel, Malahide.

Fingal Sailing School - St. Patrick's Day 2011
There shall be an Open Day from 11am until 4pm on Thursday, 17th March 2011 at Fingal Sailing School.All are welcome to attend - adults, children, families and friends! Come along and try a new activity or get practicing at something you love. Qualified I.S.A. Instructors shall be on hand all day long.
Two sessions of sailing shall take place; two sessions of windsurfing and three sessions of kayaking. Wetsuits are provided by Fingal Sailing School.
With places limited, early bookings should be made to avoid disappointment. There is a €5 cover charge per person, with B.B.Q., hot soup and hot drinks avilable throughout the day. There shall also be up to 50% off in the 'Wind and Wave Shop' on Thursday!

Malahide Market - Every Sunday!
Malahide Market has opened in St. Sylvester's GAA Club and runs from 10am until 5pm each Sunday.The idea behind the market is to promote local entrepreneurs and give them a platform to sell their products. This will in turn offer the local community a more cost effective way of buying good quality goods at recession prices.
The hope is that the market will also enhance Malahide as a village and bring more customers in to support the local businesses.
Markets also greatly entice tourists to the area, which will again boost business around the village.
The Malahide Market will complement the existing community and add to the charm of the village in general.

Congratulations to Joan Brennan (Accommodation Manager); Arpita Shekhar (Deputy Accommodation Manager); Mei Jun ‘Jackie’ Han (Accommodation Supervisor) and the entire Accommodation Department from the Grand Hotel who were awarded Gold for Accommodation Services in a 4 Star Hotel at the Irish Accommodation Services Institute gala dinner and awards ceremony held in the Red Cow Moran Hotel on Saturday, 29th January 2011.Pictured to the right are Joan and Arpita at the ceremony.
It is yet another wonderful achievement for the very hard working Accommodation Department, who have now won this award 3 years in a row!
