Arena Health and Fitness Club Wins Gold!

The Arena Health and Fitness Club, based here in the 4* Grand Hotel, Malahide, is a winner yet again!

We are delighted to announce that our Arena Health and Fitness Club has been awarded “Gold” in the ILAM White Flag Excellence Awards at the Prestigious Gala Awards Dinner held in the Killenard Golf and Spa Resort on Thursday, 18th October 2012.

Receiving the award on the night was Suzanne Byrne (Arena Health and Fitness Club Manager) and Philip Byrne (Assistant Arena Health and Fitness Club Manager) who was also the White Flag Coordinator (pictured below).

The Arena Health and Fitness Club is the only Hotel Club in Ireland to achieve Gold and one of only 5 clubs in Dublin to achieve Gold.

We are very proud of Suzanne, Philip and the entire Arena Health and Fitness Club team.

Brazil Arrives in Malahide

The 4* Grand Hotel, Malahide and Wallace Travel today welcomed a FAM trip from Brazil. 

The delegates specialise in bringing MICE business to countries all around the world.

The 4* Grand Hotel, Malahide was delighted to be featured in the May 2012 Sunday Business Post, whereby our Financial Controller Ernie Brenner, pictured, spoke at length about the recent streamlining of the Grand Hotel's printing fleet.

After an in-house audit of printing costs, a managed service with a single contract and a streamlined fleet of print devices was adopted.

Dublin Fleadh at Malahide

The Dublin Fleadh is being held in Malahide this May 2012 for the second time, bringing musicians into the village and running a number of free events.

As part of the week-long celebrations, on Wednesday, 9th May 2012, all are welcome to attend unaccompanied traditional singing here in the 4* Grand Hotel, Malahide.

On Thursday, 10th May 2012 at 8pm, we shall be welcoming the Ciorras to Hotel who shall perform with special guest Donal Lunny [see picture]. Check out the Arena Health and Fitness Club's campaign for Ireland's National Stroke Week, in conjunction with the Irish Heart Foundation, running from Monday, 16th April 2012 until Sunday, 22nd April 2012 at the club, educating members on the signs of stroke so they can act FAST and save someone's life.

Dublin City Marathon - October 2011

Congratulations to Dermot Redmond, one of our Duty Managers here in the 4* Grand Hotel, who ran the Dublin City Marathon on Monday, 31st October 2011 in aid of both the Down Syndrome Association of Ireland and Loyola House Wexford Bus Appeal.

Dermot would like to thank all those that sponsored him sincerely. With your help, a total of €3,100 was raised. This would have been impossible without your kind help and support, of which he is very grateful.

Pictured here is Dermot presenting a cheque to the C.W.C.W. Workshop in Co. Wexford. In the background, is the mini-bus purchased by the workshop for the clients of Loyola House, one of whom is Dermot's youngest brother. This shall be used to take clients to and from daily activities, with their lives greatly enhanced by such a service.

The next J.C.I. Fingal event shall take place here in the 4* Grand Hotel, Malahide on Tuesday, 17th January 2012 at 8pm.

The event is entitled, ''Are you LinkedIn or LinkedOut?" and shall be hosted by Derek Reilly.

By having a natural passion for training and coaching, and no matter which workshop you choose, Derek will make sure that your company, chapter or organisation will enjoy it along with learning valuable take-home messages that will improve both them and their business environment. Derek has personally trained hundreds of businesses using his friendly and approachable style, whilst maximising the potential from the workshop material. Derek runs a local printing company and property company in his hometown of Belmullet in Co. Mayo. He has also been an Officer and Instructor with the Mayo Fire and Rescue Service since 2001. Since joining the B.N.I. Director Team nearly four years ago, Derek has progressed within the organisation to become one of the 3 Area Directors in Ireland South and West region, and is now also the lead Area Director for launching new chapters in the region. This is a testament to Derek’s networking and people skills but also shows his focus and results driven goals. Derek is also in the process of setting up J.C.I. Mayo.
